The houses are designed specifically to get as much energy as possible from thermal radiation. This is great during winter, as you don\u2019t have to heat the interior, but<strong> causes overheating during the summer<\/strong>.<\/p>\n      <\/section>\n\n\n        <section class=\"component component-gutenberg-paragraph typography my-1\">\n              \n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The south side of a&nbsp;passive or low-energy house <strong>typically has habitable rooms in it<\/strong>, while the north (cooler) side has bathrooms, toilets and closets. However, you save about 100 kWh\/\u200bm\u00b2, as the annual power consumption of a&nbsp;standard house is about 120\u2009\u2013\u2009150 kWh\/\u200bm\u00b2.<\/p>\n      <\/section>\n\n\n        <section class=\"component component-gutenberg-heading typography my-1\">\n              \n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Architectural elements: always only partial house shading<\/h2>\n      <\/section>\n\n\n        <section class=\"component component-gutenberg-paragraph typography my-1\">\n              \n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Windows with no shading let about 64% of the solar radiation into the interior<\/strong>. Objects in the interior absorb the rays and proceed to radiate heat continuously, which heats up the interior. This can be prevented using basic architectural elements, such&nbsp;as:<\/p>\n      <\/section>\n\n\n        <section class=\"component component-gutenberg-list typography my-1\">\n              \n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>larger <strong>roof overlap<\/strong>,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong> pergolas<\/strong> with French windows,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>or <strong>sun breakers<\/strong>, which reflect the summertime sun, but let low winter sun rays inside.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n      <\/section>\n\n\n        <section class=\"component component-gutenberg-paragraph typography my-1\">\n              \n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">These elements do not provide 100% protection for the windows. In order to keep a&nbsp;pleasant temperature in summer as well,<strong> combine it with external shading<\/strong> \u2013 install external blinds, roller blinds or screen blinds onto the windows and awnings for balconies and terraces.<\/p>\n      <\/section>\n\n\n        <section class=\"component component-gutenberg-image typography my-1\">\n              \n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large is-style-default\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1920\" height=\"960\" src=\"https:\/\/www.neva.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/neva-stineni-pro-pasivni-a-nizkoenergeticke-domy-1.jpg\" alt class=\"wp-image-9329\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.neva.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/neva-stineni-pro-pasivni-a-nizkoenergeticke-domy-1.jpg 1920w, https:\/\/www.neva.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/neva-stineni-pro-pasivni-a-nizkoenergeticke-domy-1-1536x768.jpg 1536w, https:\/\/www.neva.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/neva-stineni-pro-pasivni-a-nizkoenergeticke-domy-1-1280x640.jpg 1280w, https:\/\/www.neva.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/neva-stineni-pro-pasivni-a-nizkoenergeticke-domy-1-940x470.jpg 940w, https:\/\/www.neva.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/neva-stineni-pro-pasivni-a-nizkoenergeticke-domy-1-758x379.jpg 758w, https:\/\/www.neva.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/neva-stineni-pro-pasivni-a-nizkoenergeticke-domy-1-425x213.jpg 425w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1920px) 100vw, 1920px\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">By combining the sun breakers with external blinds, you ensure a&nbsp;pleasant climate both inside and on the terrace.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n      <\/section>\n\n\n        <section class=\"component component-gutenberg-heading typography my-1\">\n              \n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">External shading: combine with sun sensors and install on facades.<\/h2>\n      <\/section>\n\n\n        <section class=\"component component-gutenberg-paragraph typography my-1\">\n              \n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">External blinds are the ideal way to reduce the interior temperature in summer by up to 10&nbsp;\u00b0C and create almost absolute darkness. We recommend their installation on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.neva.eu\/en\/fittings-and-accessories\/products\/iso-kastl\/\" title>ISO-KASTL<\/a> <strong>or sandwich plates<\/strong>, which have both the packet and guide elements hidden within the plaster of the&nbsp;house.<\/p>\n      <\/section>\n\n\n        <section class=\"component component-gutenberg-paragraph typography my-1\">\n              \n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Any jalousie-type blinds can be used to precisely control<strong> the amount and direction of light<\/strong> that you want to let into the interior, which can never be achieved with roller blinds, awnings or screens \u2013 roller blinds can either be dropped all the way or partially. For some basic variants of awnings and textile screens, you can\u2019t even prevent a&nbsp;share of the rays from penetrating through the fabric.<\/p>\n      <\/section>\n\n\n        <section class=\"component component-gutenberg-paragraph typography my-1\">\n              \n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">All solutions can be connected with<strong> smart home controls<\/strong> and controlled using sensors and motors. When the sensor detects sun rays, it signals the motor to shield the windows. Similarly, it can retract the blind to let more light in. This way, you ensure a&nbsp;stable interior temperature and save heating\/\u200bcooling costs.<\/p>\n      <\/section>\n\n\n        <section class=\"component component-gutenberg-heading typography my-1\">\n              \n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Z and S&nbsp;slats: reliable shading for passive houses<\/h2>\n      <\/section>\n\n\n        <section class=\"component component-gutenberg-paragraph typography my-1\">\n              \n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.neva.eu\/en\/blinds\/products\/z-90\/\" title>Type Z<\/a> blinds are the ideal blind type for passive houses, because their slats fit precisely into each other when shut, letting only a&nbsp;minimum of light into the room. Thanks to that, they are very useful in the summertime for the south side of your house \u2013 in bedrooms, living rooms and study rooms. This variant is elegant and its technical appearance makes it go well <strong>with modern buildings<\/strong>.&nbsp;<\/p>\n      <\/section>\n\n\n        <section class=\"component component-gutenberg-paragraph typography my-1\">\n              \n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">During the winter, the blinds can be easily hidden into the sheet metal cover or a&nbsp;case concealed underneath the plaster, leaving the interior to warm up. You can also tilt them to one side by up to 90 degrees to redirect the rays whichever way you need. <br>The same properties as the Z&nbsp;variant can also be achieved with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.neva.eu\/en\/blinds\/products\/s-90\/\" title>S\u2011shaped<\/a> slats, which have a&nbsp;more elegant look to them and make the facade look more subtle.<\/p>\n      <\/section>\n\n\n        <section class=\"component component-gutenberg-heading typography my-1\">\n              \n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">C and F&nbsp;slats: shading and reduction of thermal bridge risks<\/h2>\n      <\/section>\n\n\n        <section class=\"component component-gutenberg-paragraph typography my-1\">\n              \n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.neva.eu\/en\/blinds\/products\/c-80\/\" title>Type C<\/a> slats are a&nbsp;compromise, as they can be tilted both ways. They can be shut in summer to provide more shading or tilted in winter to <strong>redirect the rays to anywhere within the interior, from ceiling to the floor<\/strong>. We recommend combining the C&nbsp;variant with buildings of finer shapes.<\/p>\n      <\/section>\n\n\n        <section class=\"component component-gutenberg-paragraph typography my-1\">\n              \n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.neva.eu\/en\/blinds\/products\/f-80\/\" title>Type F<\/a> is another type that is suitable for tilting both ways. Compared to type C, type F&nbsp;slats are flatter and look more subtle on the house. <strong>Their packet is even thinner when retracted<\/strong>.
